Values based delivery support for mental health

03.03.2015

Delivering real world improvements in mental health commissioning and provider services.

The need for mental health services is increasing - people are getting older, but also there is increased pressure on services for children, adolescents and people of working age.

The current financial pressures on the NHS provide particular challenges for Mental Health & Community Trusts and for commissioners.  And service user experience is variable - too many people experience crisis interventions where alternative types of support have not been available.

Addressing the combination of increased need for high quality services within a constrained financial envelope drives us to find opportunities for service improvement and efficiencies in tandem.  In this environment a new approach is required and Capita has been working with mental health specialists in the Res Consortium to develop values based delivery support services for mental health.

Our approach focuses on engaging and empowering clinical leaders to take a fresh approach to improving quality and safety whilst simultaneously driving efficiency. The services we offer include:

  • For Providers - values based efficiency, productivity and transformation support to deliver against CRES targets.
  • For CCGs and CSUs  - values based strategy and commissioning support including PbR analysis and auditing, service level agreement modelling, and commissioning dashboards.
  • For Local Authorities - values based analysis and refreshing of mental health social care to be fit for purpose to meeting challenges within a new policy environment - The Care Act and Better Care Fund, cost control, and more effective interfaces with local providers.
